Getting started
Flying School keeps aircraft, instructors, and students on one calendar. A new account arrives with the CASA training programs, a starter lesson catalogue, and categories already in place, so setup is mostly about your own fleet and roster.
1. Add your aircraft
Under Aircraft, add each airframe and simulator. Record the registration, aircraft category (SEP, MEP, SET, MET, or FSTD), ICAO type designator, and current Hobbs and tach. If you set a maintenance-due Hobbs, bookings on that aircraft are refused once the meter reaches it.
2. Roster your instructors
Under Instructors, add each staff member with their working hours and base location. Their aircraft-category ratings come from approved licence documents rather than a checkbox, so upload those next - the system reads the licence and pre-fills the details for you to approve.
3. Check the catalogue
Under Catalogue, review the lessons and their duration blocks. A dual lesson with 60-minute and 90-minute variations is one service with two prices, not two services. Set the billing unit to hours so the final charge comes from the Hobbs time flown.
4. Take a booking
From the Calendar, click a free slot. Pick the student, the lesson, the instructor, and the aircraft - the busy-time strips show you both availabilities on one timeline. Saving sends the student a confirmation.
5. Check out after the flight
Open the booking and choose Check out. Record the flight log, attach the syllabus lessons flown and grade the units of competency, then settle the invoice. Package hours are drawn first, then the student's account balance, then the difference is charged.
