Building a prepaid hour package
Flight training is sold in blocks, so packages in Flying School are built from hours of specific services rather than a dollar balance.
Create the package
Go to Catalogue, then Packages, and choose New training package. Give it a name that reads like your price list - for example, PPL Training Package (45 hr). Then add the services it contains with the unit set to Hours and a quantity: 25 hours of Dual Flight Lesson, 10 hours of Navigation Dual, 10 hours of Solo Hire.
Price it
A suggested price is calculated from the included items. Enter your retail price - usually below the suggestion, since the discount is the reason a student prepays.
Set an expiry
Package Expiry is in days from purchase. Leave it blank for no expiry.
Sell it online
Turn on Online booking to make the package purchasable through your student portal, and add a hero image and description.
How drawdown works
Hours are drawn at checkout, against the Hobbs time actually flown rather than the length of the diary slot. If a student holds more than one package, the oldest is drawn first. Anything flown beyond the package is repriced at the hourly rate and added to the same invoice.
Checking a balance
Open the student and go to the Account tab, then the package. You will see hours remaining per included service and a dated usage history showing every draw and the instructor who flew it.
