Payment policies and lesson deposits
A payment policy is a reusable payment plan. Define it once under Catalogue → Payment policies, attach it to the lessons and packages you sell, and checkout applies it.
New schools start with Pay in full and 50% deposit, balance at checkout. Attach nothing and checkout charges 100% now.
How a plan applies
Checkout loads the policies on that item. Plans outside a lead-time window are hidden. If more than one is eligible, staff or the student pick one; the default is used when nobody picks. Any policy discount comes off first, then the amount due now is charged (full price, deposit percent, or first instalment). The rest is stored as a payment plan on that sale.
The chosen plan is snapshotted. Editing the policy later does not change amounts already sold.
Attach to catalogue items
Open the lesson, package, course, or event and expand Financials. Attach one or more policies and mark one as the default at checkout.
Deposits vs instalments
Deposit + balance holds a slot with a percentage now and the remainder at the flight or on the final invoice. Instalment plans split a course or package fee across dated invoices (Growth / Pro). Pair deposits with bank deposit if students pay by EFT rather than card.
