Connect Xero for accounting
Flying School owns invoices and payments at the front desk; Xero stays your books of record. Connect the two so tax codes align and daily summaries post automatically.
You can connect either Xero or QuickBooks Online, not both. Disconnect QuickBooks first if you need to switch providers.
Connect your Xero org
- Go to Settings → Integrations and choose Xero.
- Authorise Flying School to access your Xero organisation.
- Confirm the connection status shows as active.
Map tax rates
- Open Tax mapping in the Xero integration settings.
- Match Flying School GST lines to your Xero tax rates.
- New invoices use the mapped codes when you export or when automated sync arrives.
Map chart of accounts
Under Chart of accounts in the Xero integration, map revenue, clearing, GST, gift card liability, Customer account credit liability, and Customer goodwill credit expense. Top-ups, spends, and refunds-to-credit use the liability account (or gift card liability if the dedicated mapping is empty). Staff manual credit grants use the expense account paired with liability. Migration opening balances use liability only. Flying School can auto-create Flying School Customer Account Credit (REV-CCLIAB) and Flying School Customer Goodwill Credit (REV-CGWEXP). See How daily summaries work and Customer account credit.
